Is skipping gay to you?

my friend and i are both 7th graders and we like too skip around because we wnat our childhood to last and we like to have fun but this girl called us gay, is it really that gay and is it really wrong to have fun and be childish? cause people at my school try to grow up too fast , is it really worth it, growing up so fast ?
