Pressure regulator cost?
With a service company it will usually come down to, what is it worth to you. There may be things about this job that make it so expensive maybe an expensive part or a long labored fix, after hours rates ,things like that. I would say for the most part plumbing is a trade that charges hourly not a flat rate fee so that $950 estimate does sound way high.I'm no plumber but i dint think it would take no more than a $250 regulator.(I'm guessing) so at $100 an hour, seems like a 7 hour job.I don't think that it should take 7 hours to change a regulator & 4 washers.I would call for a second opinion. I have a recomendation, I think this forum is local, neighbor, Plumbing By Kirk always takes care of us with fair rates and quality work and may come out for a free estimate.Give him a call (661) 263-6519 he probably services your area.
