Airbag light on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee switches on and off?

This could be a clock spring issue or it could be a pre-tentioner which is the part of the seat belt attached to the seat. Also there are electrical connectors under each of the front seats and sometimes objects that you have in the back seats get pushed under the front seats and cause problems with these connectors. It could also be a bad ground wire. Your best bet is to insure that there is nothing under the front seats. Then if you are still having this problem take it to a Jeep dealership for diagnosis. Remember that just because the air bag light is on does not mean that it will not discharge it just means that you do not know if or when it will.
