Premenopause or not. confused?

im 47 and after a trauma am suffering bad anxiety and panic attacks that was a year ago , now a year later im out of work due to them . someone told me i could be at the onset of menopause and that the trauma could have triggered it, is this true. been to Dr's to have test and he said i cant be pre menopausal as i have regular periods and wont do test, i don't want hrt but it would have put my mind at ease, understanding what was going on, can anyone help and can what im feeling be something to do with pre menopause
